Talk and poster guidelines

Talk guidelines

Invited talks are allocated 30 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions (40 minutes total) Contributed talks are allocated 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions (20 minutes total).

Important information for oral presentations

We ask speakers to load their presentations onto the computers in the speaker rooms, at the latest, the morning before their talk. If speaking in the morning sessions, talks should be loaded at least 1.5 hours before the beginning of their session.

For splinter sessions talks should be given directly to the session organizers.

We strongly discourage speakers from using their own laptops to avoid delays between talks. However, if there is no other alternative, there will be an RGB (no DVI) cable ready to connect personal laptops.

A speaker room will be set up in the Main Auditorium and will be equipped with two computers identical to those used for the presentations. Files should be transfered to one of these computers and checked beforehand for proper display.

The computers will run MS Windows 7 and Mac OS X with the presentation software including MS Office PowerPoint 2007, iWork Keynote'09 (Mac) and Adobe Reader 9. Video facilities such as MS Windows Media Player 10 and QuickTime 7 will also be available.

Windows PCs and Apple Mac laptops will be available (with internet access), with Microsoft Powerpoint, Apple Keynote, OpenOffice, and Adobe Reader (for talks in PDF format) installed.

Laser pointers will be provided.
